How it works…

Enter the player names, choose your options, press the [Generate!] Button!

For Singles you need a minimum of 3 players/teams.

For Doubles you need at least 8 players. You don’t need an even number, but you must make the lists as even as possible in terms of numbers, i.e. one list can only contain 1 more person than the other list.

For example, if your lists are Ladies and Gents, and you have 11 ladies and 8 gents, one of your ladies will need to play as a gent, so that you have 10 ladies and 9 “gents”.

If you have an odd number, the generator will randomly pick different people/teams to sit out.

First round in order... Selecting Yes means 2 things:

  1. For the 1st round only, the players will be in the order you enter them in the list. So for doubles, the first match will be [List1 1 & List2 1] v [List1 2 & List2 2], and so on. And for singles, the first match will be [Player 1 v Player 2], and so on.
  2. If there are going to be players/teams sat out, then for the first round it will be those at the end of the list(s) that will sit out.

Selecting No means all rounds will be completely random.

Allow duplicates… Only applicable to doubles, the options have the following meanings:

NO = people will not be drawn to play with or against the same person more than once.

WITH = someone may play with the same person more than once, but not against.

AGAINST = someone may play against the same person more than once, but not with.

BOTH = someone may play with or against the same person more than once.

Note that selecting NO is the most restrictive in terms of how many rounds it is possible to generate. Selecting BOTH means there is no limit.

Rounds to generate… This may be limited by the number of players/teams. If you ask for more than is possible, the generator will tell you, and generate as many as it can.

The headings of the 2 lists can be changed from List1 & List2 to anything you like.
